Elderpine keep was founded rougly 3,500 years ago under a diffirent name: Doksug Castle (after the Doksug family). At the time it was quite a small castle, with only a hand full of royals, their servants and some farms surrounding the castle. The Doksug family was quite loved by their subjects and all was well for roughly 500 years. Things did not end well for the Doksug family when they gained the attention of the Geyon family, from a then neighbouring area, which was looking to expand. After a short but decisive war the entire Doksug family was put to the sword and the Geyon family now owned the castle. The Geyons recognised the potential of the castles strategic location, moved in and started expanding. Even after 3,000 years they never stopped expanding.

Roughly one year ago the previous ruler (Maximillian Geyon) was on his deathbed and inexplicably appointed his financial advisor (Naika Ter) as his succesor instead of his eldest daughter (Vira Geyon). This, of course, caused tensions. Where the family and advisors formed a single front during this Max's life, they form multiple factions tagled in a political war after Max's death. The largest are:

- The current ruler: Naika Ter

- The daughter of the previous ruler: Vira Geyon

- The disgraced (former) military advisor: Ott Boral
