A region separated by The Great Divide. A parting in the ocean that has divided the land into 4 major factions. Riverweave, Homestead The Trident and Jaahar. With Orc territory un-named and unloved in the NE. If you are part of a faction, you wear your faction's colours with pride. Anyone that does not, is labelled as part of the Wilderness and is looked down upon, overlooked and isolated in parts of the region.
Riverweave
Surrounded by nature, the people of Riverweave thrive on the natural environment around them. With a fresh, filtered water source spiraling from the mountains of Decran. Filling the land with bustling forest and agriculture that provides trade, food and conflict for the citizens of the land. Decran is the major Dwarven City in Riverweave, using the resources of the mountain to their advantage; mining minerals that create some of the finest weaponry and armor that the region will ever see. Siting up in the mountains gives them control over Decran Dam, the life blood of the entire region. They have control over the water source, however, the water treaty signed hundreds of years ago forbid them to starve the lower cities and towns of the valuable water. While there is peace between the major cities, conflict is never far away, with other cities such as Fford Rsh, Tonark, Omerod and Balygun vying to get ahead. Fford Rsh is surround and shaped by the river, only accessible via bridge, they are well protected from external threats. A mainly human city, woodwork, fishing and magic are their specialties, with forests encapsulating the city, wood is not hard to come by. Wild animals are no strangers to the people of Fford Rsh, with bear, boars, Owlbears etc. Always hiding round every corner, these provide valuable trade but terrible dangers. Mix all of this with magic and Fford Rsh has mysteries in every crevice. Balygun & Omerod are the fishing ports, with the great divide baring down on them, working together, they collect the turtlenecks, a rare fish, but they migrate here in the warmer seasons. Turtlenecks provide a rare materiel that is flexible and strong. Material that is perfect for armour, this is a source of living for a lot of fisherman, as it brings interest from across the region. Tonark is a working-class town for the miners of Decran Mountains. Hard working, but not appreciated by the city they helped create, strikes are regular and they feel left aside by the others. Perhaps a rebellion is in the making? Tonark are the first point of contact for any Jaahari crossing into Riverweave, while borders are free to cross, the Jaahari have caused troubles in the past.
Jaahari
Jaahari is by far the coldest part of the region, too cold for many others to even consider living. That is where the barbarian clans of Jaahari were founded. Cast away from the mainland, they fought off the weather to create their own way of living. Chellid is the original town; now turned city of Jahaari. Bringing people in to raise them as warriors and hunters, living off the land but raising them to fend for themselves and prepare them for any situation. They may be behind in the educational standards but they have knowledge about the land that any other faction would envy. Mainly keeping to themselves, they have one port in Kitterson that gives them access to Riverweave, mainly for trade but some people treck across the region to find themselves in Jaahari, while others want to escape the harshness of the land. While the Jaahari rarely get involved with the politics of the region, they have their methods and means to achieve their agenda.
Homestead
The region was founded and expanded from Homestead thousands of years ago. Exploring and settling across the region, their grip on power faded and The Great Divide Agreement was signed. Giving each island their own leaders and power to make their own decisions as long as trade and peace could prosper. Being humbled by the agreement, the cities of Homestead are quiet and keep to themselves, often forgetting the powerful history they have. Invinsivale was the powerhouse of the land, housing the leader and trade hub for the whole region. However time has chipped away at Invinsivale and they now deal in simple matters of farming and fishing, with power and greed being in the past (the way they like it) until now. As a new king could be crowned. Leadership is a sore subject in Homestead, with Invinsivale ruling Homestead since the agreement, there have been calls from Whithe Lanor to end their rule and start a new. With aging leader, the other cities are demanding a vote to see who rules the land with Withe Lanor & Jir Vardr leading the change but Invinisvale will call to a new leader of their own. Homestead is the most diverse of the factions, with each city lead by a differing race and having a wide range of diversity throughout all the cities. The land has always been fruitful, with a landscapes that bring lots of food and water. The land is also teeming with magical secrets that go back centuries and explain some of the events that have shaped this region. Homestead lives in the past but they have the resources to become a great power again given the right leader (or rebellion).
The Trident
The trident is now the major faction of the region with 3 major cities controlled by the 3 most common races. Van Fraud, Human. Inya, Elvan. Brute Dyche, Dwarven. The 3 sit on a separate sides of Eagle Lake, where they fish and live in relative harmony. Each city has their specialty and helps support each other and the rest of the region. The lake is the hub of The Trident, holding a vast amount of fish, some of which are common, some rare and some are mysteries. the centre of the lake has been forbidden by the 3 cities after fishing boats went missing. People claim there is a monster lurking in the deep centre, while others claim they have spotted whirlpools appearing. The Trident is the most popular destination for people on the outside to come and start their adventure in this region, using the 3 major cities as a quick way out of the wilderness and in to one of the factions.
Every faction has a representative in every city and town with certain ways to enter and gain reputation in each faction, climb you way up one or earn respect in multiple.
