Freehold

When the free races rose in defiance of their draconic and highborn oppressors, one unexpected ally joined them; Yorra, the Red Dragon. Dubbing herself a liberator, a freedom-fighter, a leader of the Free Folk, she stood side by side with the earthkin humans, hill dwarves, gnomes, halflings, lizardfolk and orcs and elves of every kind against their sun-blessed cousins. While most of the Free Folk were skeptical of the aid of a Dragon, and still are, some saw in her actions the proof of her intentions; In standing up against the dragons and the gods, she gave up her chance at reincarnation, and further still she gave the free folk the gift of Titans in order to grant them a fighting chance against the Dragons and their more magically inclined cousins. At the mouth od the River Ada, where the definitive victory was struck against the hosts of the Dragon Lords and where the Elder Copper Dragon was slain, Yorra raised her city. One where all races were welcome. She extended her invitation not only to those who founded the Free Cities (though they make up the majority of the population), but also to those who chose to live beyond them, as a statement that the city was home to all. Even to those who had been their enemies. Thus a delicate balance is kept within the walls of the city. Wood Folk, Underfolk, Wild Folk, High Folk and Green Orcs share Great Hill, far away from Scarlet Peak on the opposite end of the city, where the Blood Elves have been granted the entire hill to build a citadel of their own, in an effort by Yorra to earn the trust of these very radical and still belligerent Elves, who find the presence of their High cousins insulting, whom they consider their eternal enemies, having an only slightly better opinion of the rest of their kin, whom they consider cowards and defeatists. Despite this, Freehold is also the greatest city in existence, and the one place to go for any that wish to expand their knowledge, find their wealth or seek adventures. It is the crucible where all paths of life cross and interconnect. Freehold has the entire world to offer to all and any that want it. One must only come and take it.
