A complete re-do of my first continental map, Ezora. The amount of people saying how much it resembled Britannia was living rent-free in my brain so I finally sat down and did something about it.
I'm content how it came out. I hope you guys like it too!
history
Since time immemorial, Ezora has had a bloody rivalry with its sibling continent, Izadra. The countless wars and its after effects can still be felt to current day. However, things changed when the Modrons invaded. Suddenly, the world was united in a collective effort to overthrow this invader and for the first time in ages, Izadra and Ezora sought peace and banded together along with Zaicos to defeat their oppressors.
This war dubbed "The Great Fracture" or "The Renowned Amalgamation" depending on who's asked, shaped the countries and its borders to what they are today. The war ravaged the world for two decades yet during this turbulent time, Ezora was the battleground where the war ended. Izadra and its countrymen has fallen, Zaicos was ready to drop and thanks to one last ditch effort from Ermeoss and the recently enacted warrior group called "The Piercing Legions of Amandur" did the war end. This battle took place in what is now called Scarwood Grove.
During the Great Fracture, the several kingdoms that dotted this land were absolved in favor of a triumvirate* form of government that was named the Mithril Council. An advisory, legislative body of three leaders who were selected to decide the fate of the continent. Once victory was secured, peace and prosperity followed, along with a peace treaty called "The Sarrian Armistice" signed by the biggest powers in all three continents. In it, it declared that all denizens of Amandur shall not procure or utilize Modron technology in any shape or form.
Despite the treaty, in the last century or so, the Mithril Council began to deviate and initiated covert research into the, now, ancient technology and Izadra has noticed. Both continents are now on the brink of possible all-out war if the Mithril Council does not seize its operation.
