Zablier

Upon the ever undulating sands held in orbit around the Protian Heart rests the ancient city of Zablier. Deemed the "Sandbar of the Astral Sea" and "The Astral Timekeeper," Zablier is a safe haven for lost wanderers in the Vesta Quadrant. Sand is blown violently at the prevailing solar winds and squalls surrounding Zablier and pulled towards the glowing Protian Heart.

While the old texts tell of a Gith civilization rising from the dunes, the modern inhabitants are Lizardfolk and Yaun'Ti. The citizens have developed unique technologies to harness the flowing sand above the city, pulled towards the dense Protian Heart. As long as the sands flow between the desert bowl and the astroid cluster above, the city has an endless supply of energy.

Living so close to the solar gales has allowed Zablier to become the Astral Sea's leader in aeronautics. The halls of the Etoile University are filled daily with scientists rattling off innovative aerodynamic physics, and designing cutting edge Starhammer designs. The top engineers in the Astral plane call Zablier their home.

The Sidra Mage guild have found Zablier's sands crucial components for time magic. Around every mage's neck is an hourglass storing their sand stores. Unusually lucky pirates who have managed to survive a run in with a Zablier mage can only describe them as horrifying "time tamers."

Move too far out of the city, and the sands become soft. Unprepared travelers will begin to sink through the desert floor, all the way through the bottom and into the open Astral Sea. Rumor has it that the Edge Ruins may have sturdy ground, but few have made it out there. Or those who have become stranded when their transportation either sinks through the desert or blown by the strong solar gales.

The astroid formation above (or below, for what is up to down in space?) is Aten's Landing, home of the magistrates and nobility of Zablier. Amongst the wealth and politics is the druidic circle, the Cerastes Coil, that maintains the flow of sand between the main city of sand and Aten's Landing. The Coil protects the city's ancient texts hidden in the center of the landing. While the mages have discovered the sands for time manipulation, the druids know the sand's true power as an inescapable weapon. Archdruids of the Coil have a reputation of being "walking sandstorms," their sands capable of tearing the flesh from their enemy's bones.

But come: as the Zablier's say, "Time waits for no one." Dive into the wonders of Zablier!
