Spire Catena

When the world below was destroyed, the people took to the skies. Various cultures huddled together on floating islands as they were lifted up above the decimated world below. Over the centuries, these once individual cities and people melded together into the city of Spire Catena.

The Mythril Marches is home to Elven and Gnomish architectures, although people of all races live in the high towers. Night life is just as bright as the day, with the glass buildings lit up around the Dice Enclave as gamblers from all over test their luck. The stone likeness of the great hero and original founder Laby Emberwin looks down upon the Archives.

The maze of the Bronze Ward is the remnants of the original town Spire Catena once was before the Rising, but the name is lost to all records. The quaint pond of the town became cracked not long after the spire's founding, creating the fissure miarket. The city guard, the Bronze Guard, house their groups in the south-east corner, near the alchemist tower the Lightening Needle.

Past Rion's Respite, once home of the late druid, we fid ourselves in Silver Silos. While the smallest of the city sections, the buildings of the Silos rise up proudly from the rock in grand Dwarven architecture. The Authors of Mythril Forge was, at one point, the largest forge among the Spires, although Catena's citizens eventually outdid their own claim to fame by renovating the East Tower into the Titan's Forge for their army.

The Iron Quarter is a misnomer, as this section has altered the most over the Spire's lifetime. Once considered the "halfing architecture" quarter, the Iron Quarter grew into the most mismatched maze of buildings. Most find themselves wandering to the fabled Six Pearl Inn for a chance to hear stories and, if you're lucky, see if you can tame the inn's wildmagic effects as you down a tankard.

Although not officially considered a city section, Port Parley Row is a bustling visitor favorite. Once the city's port was built at the West Tower, locals began to set up bright, colorful tents in-between the guard houses to catch the incoming sailors and visitors and have them browse their goods. Eventually, the West Guard housing were overtaken by a multitude of colorful makeshift marketplaces, and so the city build the more enclosed post for its city guard and allowed a complete takeover of the old guard buildings. Now, the P.P.R is the most spectacular tourist trap new arrivals must weave through as they enter the city.

Chained to its city is the Spire. Although it looms over the city, most citizens barely give it a second glance as they go about their day. The most important folk, libraries, armories-you name it!- are all in the Spire. But most citizens don't even get to set one foot inside. Who wants to bother with politics? But the citizens do know that those who live in the Spire have access to the special ops group known in tavern whispers as the Chain Gang. So-called because the group's members will climb along the giant chains of the Spire and then feather fall down to the location of their target. All in the dead of night. If you see a figure gliding from the chains, you look the other way.
