Elhyrst

Between the borderlands of the kingdom of Parthen and the deep woods of Iar Taur, lays Elhyrst. A Town of smiling faces, generous people and deeply held beliefs to the '' Great Hunt ''; a sacred ritual that has been passed down for generations offering bountiful harvests and hunts to the town that is held by the religious sect.

From wooden palisades, the guardians of this town watch with vigilance but for whom do they watch? To keep the monstrous creatures of Iar Taur outside or to shutter them within?

The town features a multitude of houses, stemming from one to two stories. Though some houses from elders might be taller, none are as tall as the bell tower residing on top of the monastery in the center of town. Where acolytes and those who call themselves ''Guardians'' reside.

What is in this town for my setting:

- The High Hunt is actually a hunt not resided with Sylvanus, god of the hunt that many revere but instead of Malar, the god of Lychenthropy.

- You'll find many of the town interacts and does not harm traveling merchants but will on occasions of the great hunt to bestow sacrifices to Sylvanus (Malar).

- A aspect of Malar acts as the High Bishop of the town, or is Malar himself.

- Those who are part of his ''Brood'' can change between Werewolves, Wereboars, Werebears etc. The gift is given at a young age to likely candidates whom show promise, and become the very wolves that guard the forest around them. They must drink a vial of blood which is tainted by Malar himself then survive a near death experience as the effect sets in over a week, giving him a form of control and bloodlust to a character.

- If you are to use this setting, I recommend using the Lake of Malar. As the feast begins and rightfully ends, the characters are drugged (Weather you decide if its magical or non magical is up to you) and to be stripped of all possessions. Then later, thrown tied up at the lake where I had Dire Wolves come.

( If you are to do this, I suggest a player either know of the sacrifices or if you feel players are creative enough do as you see fit. )

Exp: One of mine used a imp who followed them invisibly to cut their bonds after noticing half the party passing out, realized they were being drugged.

Whatever it is, I'm sure your adventurer's will look forward to your next encounter!
