The Still Blades

The Twin Windmills have powered the town's grain trade for generations, a vital part of daily life. But one morning, both mills stopped suddenly and without explanation. The machinery appears intact, and the weather is fair, yet no amount of effort can set the blades in motion again.

The village council is in turmoil. A wealthy merchant, fearing financial losses, offers a generous reward for a solution. Some suspect foul play perhaps a rival trade faction interfering. Others believe an undiscovered flaw in the mills' design has finally surfaced. Meanwhile, an old engineer claims to have seen something unusual the night before, but few take his words seriously as he is prone to drink often at the local tavern.
