Roughly based on the pre-1839 borders of Belgium, Zeeland and Northern France. Most of the Netherlands is underwater.

Locations are based on existing towns but are often renamed to nearby landmarks or given a twist. Some towns like Monschau actually lie in a neighbouring country.

Side note; the real Belgium doesn't have elves, dwarves or mountains. It does have chocolate, waffles and beer.
