Quick Lore Idea: The scribes/writers prefer to see how the techniques affect a person right there and then to know the faults and strengths of the technique better and avoid oversights. Certain races' anatomies are different so the scribes go around and look for unique races such as tieflings to experiment on them and pay in return. A healer is always present to heal the person wounded.

TL;DR: Owners use this area to test combat techniques on real people to see the reaction of the victim instantly.
