The city of Madrigal is the shining jewel of Carthan. Sitting on the delta of the great Scamander River, this port city is perfectly poised to both engage in trade across the oceans and travel up river into the heart of the continent. A beacon of knowledge, culture, wealth, and a burgeoning but fastly expanding center of Arcane studies, Madrigal is in a perfect position to expand it's influence away from the sea and further inland.

No king resides in the Citadel, rather, a Council of the seven wealthiest Merchants of the city determine laws and handle diplomacy. With almost 150,000 people from all races and walks of life living within the City State of these seven paragons of extravagance it is yet to be determined if their motivations lie in wealth accrual, military expansion... or perhaps a combination of the two?
