A regional seat of power, the town of Ozarion is seated along a river at the end of a long canyon. The expansive desert to the west and rocky terrain to the north and east protects this town from influence or invasion by any of the larger kingdoms beyond. The flood plain to the south keeps the surrounding land fertile for farming.
Ozarion's defensible position and ample resources have made this settlement attractive to merchants and traders. The small but bustling economy has resulted in the opening of a coliseum and while many enjoy the bloodsport, some local mercenary companies also appreciate the opportunity to recruit the victors.
All visitors to Ozarion speak of the view of the grand palace at the center of the city, and those who are lucky enough to be invited within the walls speak very highly of the palace water gardens. Proximity to water is an indicator of wealth, as the merchant and aristocratic districts line the city's aqueducts while the poorer residents of Ozarion live toward the edges of town, closer to the harsh desert. The ever-changing and cutthroat political environment provide a chance for adventurers of the proper inclination to gain favors or build their reputation.
While an undeniably beautiful place to visit, Ozarion can be dangerous for those who are unfamiliar with its customs. But then again, most residents and visitors to Ozarion know that with danger also comes opportunity.
