Once a grand estate of scholars and sorcerers, the Withered Sanctum now stands as a monument to its own cursed history. Founded centuries ago by the House of Eldrath, a lineage of mages devoted to unraveling the mysteries of life and death, the mansion served as both a home and an arcane academy.

Deep within its halls, Lord Auren Eldrath pursued forbidden knowledge & was convinced he could conquer mortality itself. His experiments, conducted in secret beneath the estate, yielded horrors beyond comprehension. What began as simple necromantic studies soon led to the creation of abominations—twisted, mindless husks bound by dark magic. The boundaries between life and undeath blurred, and Auren's obsession spiraled into madness. His final ritual, meant to grant him eternal power, instead unleashed a cataclysmic surge of necrotic energy.

The very walls of the mansion trembled as a rift tore through reality, cursing the estate and all who dwelled within. The servants and scholars were twisted into wretched undead, forever bound to the mansion’s ruins. The grand library, once a beacon of knowledge, became a corrupted vault of forbidden tomes. The guest chambers, once filled with warmth, now reek of decay, their beds occupied by restless spirits. Even the gardens outside withered into a lifeless expanse, shrouded in eternal twilight.

Now, the Withered Sanctum stands abandoned by the living but never truly empty. The halls echo with the whispers of the damned, and spectral figures drift through the broken corridors. The central chamber, where Auren Eldrath's ritual failed, still hums with lingering magic a swirling, glowing sigil at its heart. Some say the mage himself lingers there, trapped between worlds, waiting for foolhardy adventurers to finish what he began.
