Map of Elturel before the events of Descent into Avernus. I have tried to maintain maximal fidelity to the map given in DiA, with the following adjustment that makes it closer to the original lore of Elturel:
- The garden in the High district of the city has a river that culminates in a waterfall called the Maiden's Leap and is, in fact, the source of the water in the canal;
And the following changes which I thought made sense:
- The dry dock in the Western part of town was dismantled and converted into a park in an effort to make the "Westerly" district more presentable;
- Added a bridge to the South across the Chiontar river, but frankly I'm not entirely sure whether the large dotted line on the original 2nd edition was supposed to be a bridge or someting else;
- The giant ravine in the center of the town appeared during the events of DiA, rather than pre-DiA (as stated in the book). The presence of the ravine creates many issues (Was it filled with water? What happened to the [bridge] to the South? What caused it in the first place?).
I have also made a version of the map (see Elturel (Alexandrian)) that includes the following changes:
- The canal around the Dragoneye docks was the result of an incorrect reading of the 2nd edition map of the city. It should be a wall instead;
- The North-Eastern gate leads towards the Keep of the Twin Suns, which arches over the road. This is included to make the map compatible with the version used in Julian Alexander's Remix of Descent into Avernus
