Map for my DnD campaign set in the great State of Texas!
War. War never changes. When fires of war consumed the earth, those few who survived did so in great, underground vaults or eked out a existence in the ruins of once great cities. Their descendants would be tasked with building new societies, and civilizations.
As decades turned to centuries in the heart of what was once Texas new wars were raged. The Brotherhood of Steel pursuing the remnants of the Master’s Army waged war against the Super Mutant Warlord Attis who threatened to drown Texas in a tide of blood.
Their victory at the Alamo came at a great cost. Following the battle The Brotherhood assumed the role of the state’s guardians aligning itself with the major powers of Texas forming the Texas Coalition. An alliance of the major powers in the state dedicated to shared values of independence, rule of law, and free trade. A new civilization had arisen as the sole power of Texas but it wouldn’t remain unchallenged for long.
To the West a vast empire of slavers styled after the ancient Romans had arisen in Arizona and New Mexico. Caesar's Legion, only the recall of the Legate Lanius, to the Mojave, prevented an all-out war between the Coalition and the Legion. But another power saw an opportunity. To the South across the border in what was once Mexico the Republic of the Rio Grande had emerged.
6 years have passed since the Coalition repelled the Republic’s invasion, but they have not been defeated. The Republic gathers its strength and undermines the coalition, aligning and subverting neutral settlements to suit its agenda. All the while awaiting pretext to launch a second full invasion.
Through it all life in Texas goes on for its inhabitants. Slavers and Mutants kidnap the unwary, Lawmen and Raiders battle, farmers till their fields, and factions vie for power. But darkness stirs like a giant roused from its ancient slumber and none of the powers of the wasteland are prepared for what will soon be unleashed…
