Adopted in 58 PE, the church's calendar was divided into 10 months. The Decree helped in two ways: it helped establish economic order to the seasonal farming efforts of the new surface settlements. It also Engrained the Old Ways of the Matron Mother saints into the peasantry, now at large in an unmapped countryside. No matter how many years would pass, mothers would now tell their children of the harrowing pounding of the first Longnight, or that there must always be Penance for what is owed to the earth.
