Balvo's parents were killed by thugs who saw his Vedalken parents as some form of Tiefling threat after the rise of the infernal threat. Found covered in his parents blood, Balvo was taken in by a wolf pack, feeling some connection to the young child. As he got older Balvo helped the wolves by burying the den underground, shoring up the walls. This clearing is the entrance to that den where the pack still lives.
