"Praise the sovereign if Azaeri!"

While the city above is that of limestone, and red bricks. Within the hallowed out chambers of a former caldera rests the seat of Ekrilldorian power. Their ancient undercity made of deapslate, granite, and marble. It is the last truly Azaerian city in the empire. Founded by Tharnan Bravesoul (Circa 5,302 A.E), eldest brother of King-Emperor Maekar I the Conqueror. No throne would he ever know, no crown would bless his head, but beneath Mount Daerion, he made his own instead. Allying with the Clan Nedrak and raising his holdfast in the eastern Azaerian Crownlands. With its positioning near the Ulnarion Straits, Nopahdtims wastes, and its placement along the Ekril mountains, it placed it as a key bastion for their homelands defense. As Millennia passed, and King-Emperors in distant Kharnathrangul ruled with an iron fist. Yet Khar Darin remained their most stalwart shield and first line of defense. Yet it could not defend the capital from the fate which befell it. In the dreadful year of 13,787 A.E., a divine calamity would befall the Azaerians. No one knows of its origin, yet all know of its wrath. A silent rapture devoured two-thirds of the Azaerian crownlands in less than three days. The magma did rise, the seas did boil as the Capital itself was banished down into the hells. After which the "Eternal empire" which was ekrilldor imploded in five months. The only remaining Azaerian cities are Khar Darin and her sisters. When all seemed lost, the last of the royal line of High-King Boic's son Tharnan would claim the throne. The first and only Ekrilldorian Queen-Empress, Azalea the restorer. Over the course of two centuries with Khar darin as her capital, she rallied the remaining clans, legions, and city-states under her banners. Securing the frontier of the Drarrowstone peninsula and proclaiming a Second Ekrilldorian Empire. Her efforts also extended into renovating the city into the renowned, more befitting capital for an Azaerian. By the end of her reign, both the city above and the city below radiated with the glory of their disgraced homeland. Her son and descendants would continue to add onto the city's sprawl into the present day. Despite its history of enduring sieges, plagues, and when it was sacked and occupied for 94 years. It remains a shining symbol of Dwarven dominance in northern Aenevitam.
