Once a mere outpost along the Yaris River, Klousterdam has grown into a thriving bastion of trade, craftsmanship, and ambition. Nestled atop rocky outcropping and surrounded by sturdy walls, the city serves as both a hub for merchants and a stronghold against the untamed wilds on the other side of the Yaris.

A City of Trade and Industry

Klousterdam thrives on its industries, boasting skilled artisans, glassblowers, blacksmiths, and brewers who supply the region with fine goods. The Merchant’s Square is the heart of commerce, where deals are struck over exotic wares from all over the land. The exchange office ensures that trade runs smoothly, while the docks provide a gateway for river-bound shipments.

The Seat of Power

At the highest point of the city stands the keep, a bastion of stone that houses the ruling family, the House of Klous. Their rule, while often just, has not been without conflict. Below the keep lies the prisoner's square, a grim reminder of the city's strict laws. The barracks and officers' quarters ensure that the city guard remains ever-vigilant against threats from within and without.

A City of Faith and Secrets

A grand church rises near the inner district, its bells tolling with devotion to the gods. However clandestine dealings occur in the Mage’s Guild, where scholars of the arcane push the boundaries of known magic. The Apothecary is said to possess remedies both miraculous and forbidden.

The Outer Lands

Beyond the walls, fields stretch toward the horizon, dotted with farmer’s plots, a mill, and a lumber camp supplying the city with sustenance and materials. To the west, a craggy outcrop holds a mysterious rock quarry, rumored to be older than the city itself. Some say the stones wail at night, most write it off as the wind traveling along the Yaris.

A City on the Brink?

Despite its prosperity, Klousterdam stands at a crossroads. Tensions simmer between the noble elite and the growing merchant class. Bandits lurk in the wildlands, threatening the trade routes. And in the depths of the quarry, miners have begun vanishing without a trace.
