Map Description
"Welcome to the Capital of Serpentus travelers! Hopefully the storm did not disorient your stygh or air ship captain! If you are in need of a stable for your mount, look no further! We have plenty of room here at the port, otherwise there is the resort in the east end, or most inns and brothels will stable your stygh for a small fee.
"If you are used to the dense concrete or paved streets of other cities like Agony or Madeskaryan, forgive us, but that is not the serpent succubus custom. Our Infernal Mistress Tiamat has put in place a restriction on paving or cutting down too many trees, so most of us live inside of them instead. As far as paving is concerned, we with serpent tails have no need for roads. It is after all her glorious handy work that the wildlife is doing so well! We also are skilled at building huts and yurts from branches that have fallen off naturally, so that is how many of us live.
"In more recent times however, some of us have gotten a taste of what they call 'higher living,' so you will find some houses scattered through the jungle. These houses were built at an elevation from the marshy ground by way of wooden support beams to avoid flooding.
"You may have noticed our massive trees and mushrooms on your way in? These serve us similarly to Infernal Master Alakash's skyscraper concept in Agony. Nevertheless, we have an arena and two stadiums where games and competitions are held regularly! These are made of stone, suspended by wooden supports. This may be surprising, but the wood of our trees is exceptionally strong and tensile!
"If you are new to the Infernum Infinitus traveler, you may also be surprised to learn that the Infernopolis of Tyamat is the second oldest city of The Devil! You may thus also wonder why our Infernal Mistress prefers to keep the amount of buildings we have low? During the era of Angelic Occupation, the fact we were concealed due to our city looking like a jungle caused the angels not to notice us at first. This camouflage sadly did not last when devils from other regions tried to immigrate here, but she figures if something else like that were ever to happen, our cities would then continue to blend in better than others.
"You may therefore wonder why her castle is a stone structure with a paved bridge and inner courtyard? It was actually a gift from her oldest husband Infernal Master Azathoth, greatest tradesman of the Infernal Masters, and its construction was completed recently. As he is currently the Infernal Majesty, he insisted she had a fortified home in case the angels came back. Not long after, some of the wealthiest citizens of Tyamat asked to have houses built within the courtyard of the palace and were granted permission to do so.
On another note, you may never have seen anything like our water filtration system! It is thanks to our unique process that our waters are so rich with magical power. The water mills operate day and night, and our pipelines are actually roots. The tree and mushroom buildings themselves help along the cycling of the water. All of this is coordinated by serpent succubae, proud botanists and herbalists of The Devil! The lighting of our city is the most economical in the whole Infinitus, completely bioluminescent! So while you are here, enjoy some natural living!
"If you are native to the Infinitus, you may have need to council with your Master, or Mistress? Worry not! Our temple district is the place to go for that, with all thirteen temples erected since the end of the Angelic Occupation.
"We hope you have a fine stay! Serpent succubae are warm and welcoming folk, so don't be afraid to make friends. And please travelers, enjoy tonight!"
