This winter version transforms the rugged high mountain stronghold into a frozen bastion, with frost-covered trees and frozen vegetation struggling to survive the brutal cold. Above it rises the massive stone cliff, its fortress carved directly into the rock, now dusted with snow and rimed with ice. The great fortified gates stand cold and silent, flanked by defensive walls capped with platforms where ballistae lie ready, their mechanisms stiff from the freezing air. Reaching the gates means ascending icy stone steps carved into the mountainside.

Inside the mountain, the fortress remains a vital refuge against the winter storms. The living quarters house a hardened garrison accustomed not only to battle, but to enduring months of isolation and cold. Sleeping chambers, storerooms, armory, kitchen, dining hall, and the deep well are all still present, now adapted for survival in extreme conditions. Fires burn constantly, and supplies are carefully rationed. Beyond the inner chambers lies the heart of the location: the entrance to the sprawling mine containing three rich gold deposits. Even in winter, the mine remains active, its deepest vein so valuable that a heavy lifting rig continues to haul precious ore from the depths.

Mountain Mine Fort in winter is no longer just a fortified outpost. It becomes a frozen stronghold guarding one of the most valuable gold mines in the region during the most unforgiving season of the year. The garrison consists of veteran miners and battle-tested warriors, many of whom are miners first and soldiers second. They know the dangers of collapsing tunnels, freezing temperatures, and unseen horrors lurking beneath the ice-bound mountain. A smaller force of professional soldiers serves as the fortress’s iron fist. This winter map is designed to give your players a strong sense of isolation, danger, and endurance as they explore snow-covered walls, cold corridors, and the dark depths below.
