Only 18 individual Frost Giants survived that day, all of whom were male. The first sentient species in the Yggdrasil system to succumb to extinction happened on the 40th anniversary of the destruction of Jotunheim at the hands of the Elves. The Humans of Midgard, the Dwarves of Nidavellir and the Fiends and Fire Giants of Muspellheim allied under the Midgard Pact and saw to it the destruction of the Elvish fleet and the Exile of the Elves from Yggdrasil.

It's been a thousand years now and the once frozen cold and forboding world of Jotunheim is now a lush forested temperate world, actually a touch on the warm side for all but the Fire Giants(heated from the output of the accretion disk of the singularity at it's core, A glittering silver ring blazes across it's sky created that day so long ago from remnants of the Frost Giant Fleet which was mowed down by the squadron from Elvish fire.

The world of Jotunheim now stands as a beautiful but ultimately horrifically sad monument to the consequences of wielding power and technology for which you did not create and do not fully understand
